3 things about social media marketing i say on repeat to my clients
I’ll be honest, my clients are probably sick of hearing me say these things because I repeat myself. A LOT.
But I repeat myself because every business owner needs to hear them, and they’re easy to forget. Yet, they’re possibly some of the simplest things you can implement in your marketing to get the best results.
No. 1: MARKETING SHOULD BE FUN
If you’re not having fun, what’s the point? But also, if you’re creating content because you feel you have to, not because you’re genuinely enjoying it, then it won’t be engaging, and people will keep scrolling on by. There’s definitely something to be said for bringing some fun into your content, because it creates connection AND it’s memorable.
No. 2: SOCIAL MEDIA IS YOUR SHOP WINDOW
Yes, you can sell on social media. BUT it’s not its whole purpose, and you shouldn’t treat it as such.
Social media is like your shop window; it entices people in. But if your shop floor (website) or customer service (how YOU interact with them) isn’t up to scratch, you’ll soon turn people away, and you won’t make any sales.
Don’t put all of your eggs in your social media basket, and make sure that you have a decent website and customer service.
No. 3: YOU’RE OVERTHINKING IT
I’m being completely serious. The best pieces of content don’t try to fit everything in at once. This content doesn’t even have to have the highest-end production. But what it does have is one clear message.
So stop trying to fit everything into one post. One message: make it clear, with a simple, obvious call to action.
Take these principles forward, and suddenly your marketing becomes SO much easier…
